The Milbank Firechiefs’ offense put on a clinic when they defeated the Ramona Express on Saturday, June 17, at Pribyl Park in Milbank. The Firechiefs amassed 16 hits and scored 21 runs. On the mound for Milbank, Taylor Boerger struck out the side in the top of the first. His offense backed him up In the bottom half. Kaden Krause started things rolling with a lead-off walk. Kellen Hoeke followed with an infield single. Brady Krause scored them both with the first of his three doubles in the game. Milbank grabbed an early 2-0 lead. 

Dom Boerger drew a walk. Mitch Quade singled to load the bases. Jesse Krause singled to left field to push B. Krause and D. Boerger across the plate. Milbank surged ahead at 4-0. Quade scored on a wild pitch. J. Krause also scored on an error by Ramona’s third baseman to cap a big inning for Milbank.

T. Boerger struck out another two batters in the top of the second and received more help from his team in the bottom of the second. Hoeke drew a walk to lead off. B. Krause  followed with a double to put runners on second and third. D. Boerger loaded the bases when he was hit by a pitch. Mitch Quade came up next, and he was also hit by a pitch. The score moved to 7-0. 

J. Krause kept the streak going. He was hit by a pitch to add another click to Milbank’s run total. Brady Femling drew a walk to bring home a run. Tyler Krause singled to left to score Quade and the Firechiefs hit double digits at 10-0  K. Krause hit a sacrifice fly to center to keep the streak going. He scored J. Krause and the scoreboard read 11-0 in favor of the locals. 
T. Boerger struck out the side again to give the visitors another goose egg in the scoring column in the top of the third. He put up eight strikeouts in three innings.  

B. Krause started another explosion in the bottom of the third when he singled to center. D. Boerger was hit by a pitch for the second time. Quade drew a walk to load the bases.  J. Krause grounded out to the first baseman, but he allowed  B. Krause to score. Femling singled to right field to send D. Boerger and Quade home to make it 14-0. T. Boerger doubled to center to score Femling as the locals poured it on and led 15-0. K. Krause scored T. Boerger on an error by Ramona’s left fielder. The Firechiefs were up 16-0. 
Hoeke then moved K. Krause to third with a single. B. Krause scored him with a double to left and Milbank was ahead 17-0.  D. Boerger scored Hoeke with a single to right field. Milbank’s lead continued to grow at 18-0. Quade drove B. Krause home with a single to right to add another run. The score mushroomed to 19-0 with two outs. 

Merik Junker punched out a pinch-hit single. Femling followed with another single to score D. Boerger and take the Firechiefs lead to 20-0.

Milbank’s final run came in the bottom of the fourth. B. Krause marked his fifth hit of the day to left field. He also scored when D. Boerger reached on a fielder’s choice. The Firechiefs rolled over Ramona at  21-0.

T. Boerger earned the win. He allowed no runs in five innings of work. He struck out 12 batters. B. Krause topped the offense with five hits and three RBIs. Kellen Hoeke, Brady Femling, and Mitch Quade each added two hits to Milbank’s total of 16.
