Have a Yankee Doodle Dandy Day at Lake Farley Park on the 4th of July. It’s easy to remember – the fun begins at 4 p.m. Fireworks start at dusk.

From 4-6 p.m. make a new friend at the Fishing Derby. It’s free for kids up to age 14. Rick and Wendy Hentjes and the Sons of the American Legion host the event. Bait and tackle are provided. Each participant receives a free fishing pole! Plus, more prizes will be awarded.

From 5-9 p.m. bring the family for inflatables, including an obstacle course and a water slide. Ever wonder why nobody uses coins anymore?  They’re all at the bottom of the Coin Dig. Kids will have a blast digging and walk away with a little cash.

Challenge your friends on the cornhole boards, soak in the music from the KMSD boombox, and grab a sweet or savory snack at one of the food vendors. From tacos to Tuny’s and Tommy’s to Grammy’s, there’s a treat for everyone.

Don’t forget to get your tickets for the Fireworks Raffle sponsored by the Milbank Chamber. You could be grilllin’ in style for the rest of the summer with your Pit Boss 1150 Navigator pellet grill donated by United Hardware. Or take all your outdoor adventures to the next level with second prize, a Lifetime Horizon stand-up paddleboard.

Tickets are just $5 apiece or get six for $20. The drawing will be held during the fireworks. (You need not be present to win.) Get your tickets at Valley Liquor, Food N Fuel, Cocktails and Corks, or the Milbank Chamber office.

Happy Birthday, America! Join the celebration in Milbank!
