Elaine Wagner

Elaine Wagner, age 88, of Clinton, MN, passed away on June 27, 2023.

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 10, 2023, beginning at 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 3:00 p.m. at the Mundwiler and Larson Moberg Chapel in Clinton. Burial will be at the Clinton Cemetery.

Elaine Joyce Wagner was born on March 10, 1935, in Camp Release Township in Lac Qui Parle County, MN, to Henry and Esther (Gustafson) Haugen. She graduated from Clinton High School in 1953. Elaine married Donald Wagner in 1955 and they resided in the Clinton area.

Elaine worked hard throughout her life, with many years as a bank teller, on the farm and dietary services. She thoroughly enjoyed gardening, flowers, keeping the freezer and cupboards full of baked and canned goods, watching for birds and seeing her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow up. Elaine had strong faith, being a life-long member of the Elim Lutheran Church spending many years serving on altar guild and ladies aid. She was a long-term member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 258.

Surviving Elaine are her three children: Julie (Tony) Wagner of Beardsley, MN; Kristi (Dominic) Kipp of Fargo, ND; and Breanna (Kassor) Wagner of Sartel, MN; grandchildren: Lauren (Cameron) Carlson, Michael (Katie) Bale, Josie Kipp, and Zion Burt; great-grandchildren: Carter and Cade Carlson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Wagner; parents: Henry and Esther Haugen; brothers: Harold Haugen and Robert Haugen; along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Waters Edge Assisted Living. Elaine thought of the staff and clients at Waters Edge as her second family.
