Milbank traveled to Clark on Friday, June 30, to take on the Clark Traders in EDL action. The Firechiefs fell 8-6 in league play to move their season record to 7-3.

Kaden Krause led off with a walk and proceeded to steal second. Kellen Hoeke singled to left to score K. Krause from second to give Milbank an early 1-0 lead. Mitch Quade lined a double to left center to send Hoeke around the bases and up Milbank’s lead to 2-0. Jesse Krause drew a walk to put runners on first and second for Brady Femling. Femling shot a ground ball to left field to score Quade, earn an RBI single, and increase the Firechiefs lead. Milbank was ahead 3-0 in the first.In the top of the fifth, Kellen Hoeke blasted an opposite field homerun to right center. His bomb pushed the score to 4-0. Milbank fell behind by the end of the sixth, but attempted to put together a rally in the top of the seventh. Trailing 6-4, K. Krause led off the inning with a single to right field. He again stole second, and Hoeke slapped a single to left to give K. Krause time to score. He cut the deficit to 6-5.

Quade drew a walk and Brady Krause reached on a fielder’s choice and then advanced to second. B. Krause stole third and went on to score when J. Krause hit a sacrifice fly to deep left field. The game was  tied at 6-6.
In the bottom of the seventh, Milbank ran out of time when they surrendered two runs. The Firechiefs took the loss 8-6.  Hoeke led the way for the offense with three hits and three RBIs. K. Krause added two hits and two runs.
