Join the Milbank Fire and Rescue team for a burger or a brat, beans, chips, and lemonade tomorrow night, August 1, from 6-8 p.m. to celebrate National Night Out.  A free will donation is suggested. Proceeds go to the Milbank Fire Department. Stick around for a free fire safety demonstration, get a chance to see the fire trucks, meet the firefighters, and win prizes. Firefighters will climb to the top of the ladder truck and drop balls. Kids can grab a ball and win a prize. One lucky kid will win a ride to school on a fire truck!  Kevin Schuelke, former fire chief and now head of Grant County Emergency Management, says, “We plan to redeem the ride during Fire Prevention Week in October.”

National Night Out is an annual family-friendly night of fun to help residents get acquainted with their neighbors and first responders. Milbank Fire Chief David Giesen says, “The Milbank Police Department, Grant County Sheriff’s Office, Game, Fish and Parks, the South Dakota Highway Patrol, and Grant-Roberts Ambulance will also all be on hand during the event.”
