DeBoer Ties for Third at Redfield Golf Invite

The MHS boys golf team competed at the Redfield Invitational on September 12 at Fisher Grove Golf Course near Fisher State Park outside of Redfield. 

Mark Keeton, head coach for Milbank, commented, “It was a good day for the Bulldogs with all four of our players’ scores in the 80s. We finished in fourth place, but it was a very tight race with only 14 strokes separating us from first place. As a team I like where we are.  Everyone on the team knows where they are losing strokes, and that will be our focus going forward.” 

Watertown won the tournament as a team. Finn Anderson was named the individual medalist. He and Brody Torgerson of Watertown had each carded 79. Bulldog Jonathan DeBoer tied for third with Brevin Fliehs of Groton at 80.

Tiospa Zina – Dakota Winds
The Bulldogs also faced Tiospa Zina in Hankinson, North Dakota. Coach Keeton, commented, ”This was a last-minute meet that Tiospa Zina put together and we were lucky enough to attend.  Dakota Winds is a very nice course, and something similar to what we might see at the state tournament. The blind tee shots and undulating greens make this place a challenge!” Owen Fisher was the top finisher for the Bulldogs. He carded 84 to take fifth place.
