DeBoer and Fischer Punch Tickets to State Golf Meet

Jonathan DeBoer and Owen Fischer will play in South Dakota’s 2023 State A Golf Tournament. The tournament will be a two-day, 36-hole event at Hart Ranch Golf Club in Rapid City on October 2-3.

The Bulldogs competed in the Region 1A meet on Monday, September 25. Mark Keeton, head coach for Milbank, said, “It was a day of highs and lows. The high was [sophomore] Jonathan DeBoer capturing the medalist honors. He put together a very solid thought-out round, always keeping the ball in play with his course management. Jonathan was the only golfer to break 80. “ 

“Owen Fischer is our other state qualifier,” Keeton said. Fischer, a junior, carded an 88 and earned a 15th-place finish. Senior Joshua Keeton narrowly missed playing in the state tournament. He was eliminated by one stroke.  “As a team, we finished sixth, Coach Keeton said, “but we were only ten strokes out of third.”  Groton came out on top in the team rankings. The Tigers shot 47 over par for a total of  335.
