Milbank’s JV Tennis Team Tangles With Watertown

The Lady Bulldogs JV tennis team concluded their season in a dual against Watertown on Thursday, September 21. Coach Steve Stemsrud commented, “All of the Milbank players exhibited improvement over their previous outings.”

At No. 1 In doubles play, Bri Hicks and Josie Riveland tied Martinsen and Misland in the first two matches of the day. The Milbank duo took the loss when they were defeated in the tie breaker 7-9 . In their second match, Hicks and Riveland defeated Anderson and Gerberding 6-4. 

At No. 2,  Alexis Meyer and Ava Sichmeller lost both matches to Watertown.  According to Stemsrud, the pair won six games in the two match-ups — an improvement from their previous match against Watertown. 

At No. 3 for Milbank, Kyra Tostenson and Izzy Glomstad were defeated by Goessen / Ninneman 3-6. They also took a loss against Melland and Ninneman 1-6.

Lady Bulldogs Keira Steffan and Dana Chan were defeated by Meland / Kallenmeyn 0-6. They also dropped 4-6 to Gossen / Meland in their second match. 

Bridget Regil and Jemma Frerichs lost 2-6 to Meland / Kallenmeyn. They were also defeated by Anderson / Gerberding 1-6.
In singles action, Milbank’s Josie Riveland defeated Martinsen 6-4.  Bri Hicks was defeated by Mislang  1-6.  Alexis Meyer fought a tough battle against A.Anderson, but she eventually took the loss 3-6. Lady Bulldogs Sichmeller, Stefffan, and Glomstad each were defeated 1-6.
