Boy Scouts are popping up all over town! The Boy Scouts from Milbank’s Troop 45 are going door-to-door during their annual popcorn fundraiser. Get your popcorn for movie night or stock up for the winter weather ahead.
You can never go wrong with a little butter and salt, but why stop there? The Boy Scouts offer nearly as many flavors as badges on an Eagle Scout. Choose a collectible tin filled with chocolate lovers, cheese lovers, or a classic trio. Go fancy with milk chocolate pretzels, peanut butter cup popcorn, or sea salt splash popcorn. Get ready to dig into toasty, sweet, deluxe caramel corn, or kick things up a notch with the spicy Southwest snack mix. Need your popcorn in a hurry? Choose from microwave yellow or kettle corn.
Want to share your love of popcorn with our military troops? Military donations are accepted. Popcorn can also be purchased for the local food pantry or microwave popcorn can be selected for the Backpack program.
Popcorn sales will continue until October 19. The scout will have the popcorn with him when he stops at your house.
Jeff Loutsch, scoutmaster of Troop 45, says, “Popcorn is our annual fundraiser and how each scout pays for their year-long adventure in scouting.” The money raised helps fund troop activities, day camps, summer camps, and the upkeep of camping gear, just to name a few things.
Loutsch says, “Selling popcorn also teaches scouts core values: how to earn their own way, responsibility, salesmanship, perseverance, communication, and self confidence. In addition, it reduces costs for families and provides necessary equipment.”
Interested in joining Scouts? Cub Scouts is open to boys ages kindergarten through the middle of fifth grade. Boy Scouts is designed for boys in the middle of fifth grade and up. Troop 45 is sponsored in part by Grant County Combined Appeal.
