Senior Hope Karels, the daughter of Jason and Susan Karels, has been chosen as the October Student of the Month at MHS.
Hope is active in choir, band, color guard, girls tennis, theater, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and National Honor Society. She serves as the student manager for the boys tennis team. Outside of school, she is involved in 4-H and plays the piano. She also sings in the choir and volunteers as a server at her church.
Hope has been employed at the Big Stone Pumpkin Patch and Unity Health and Fitness. Her entrepreneurial spirit also led her to start her own business, HK Cupcakes and Bakery.
Her favorite class is history. “I love learning about the history of our country and our world. It is interesting to learn how our world has changed,” she commented.
After graduation, Hope plans to attend North Dakota State University to study business administration or marketing.
