The Milbank Area gymnastics team scored 120.05 points to place third at the Britton-Hecla Invitational on December 12 in Britton.  Britton-Hecla won the meet with 134.35 points. Deuel claimed second with 132.60 points, and Sisseton finished in fourth at 113.6.

Kelly Wollschlager, head coach for MHS, said, “The girls started the meet on bars with clean routines. Hannah Brown placed 11th with her score of 6.85,  Macyn Dunnihoo, 12th with 6.75; Madilyn Sletten 17th with 5.5; and  Gemma Street 18th with 5.4.”

On the Beam, Hannah placed fifth with her score of 8.2. Macyn collected 11th with 7.65. Gemma took 16th place with 6.6, and Madilyn 20th with 5.5.

On the Floor,  Hannah tied for second place with her score of 9.35. Macyn came in fourth with 9.2.  Gemma was 12th with 8.35, and  Madilyn was right behind her with 8.2 to take 13th place.

The Milbank girls ended the vault competition in ties. Hannah tied for seventh place with her score of 8.4.  Gemma tied for 15th with her score of 8.1, and Macyn and Madilyn tied for 17th. They each received an  8.0.

In the All-Around, Hannah earned fifth place with 32.8 points.  Macyn finished at ninth with 31.6 points.  Gemma secured 13th place with 28.45 points. Madilyn scored 27.2 points to capture 15th.

“‘The girls all had a great floor day – from completed jumps to solid tumbling passes, they all showed off what they can do,” commented Wollschlager.  Hannah, Macyn, and Madilyn also performed personal-best floor routines.”
