The Lady Bulldogs gymnastics team hosted the Milbank Invitational on Saturday, December 16. As a team, Milbank scored a season-high 121.6 points. They also eclipsed several of their individual high scores. Britton-Hecla won the meet. Milbank earned fifth place.

Kelly Wollschlager, head coach for Milbank said, “The Bulldogs started out strong on the vault.” Hannah Brown tied for eighth with 8.2 points. Macyn Dunihoo and Gemma Street tied for 16th. Each of them scored 8.0. Madilyn Sletten tied for 19th with 7.9. Raina Untalan tied for 23rd with her score of 7.85. “Jada Leigh (Wellnitz) performed a personal best vault and placed 32nd with 7.5.,” Wollschlager noted.

On the Bars, the Lady Bulldogs were all tied up. Macyn tied for 17th with her score of 6.75. Hannah tied for 19th with a 6.65. Raina and Gemma tied for 27th. They each scored 5.65. Aria Prasnicki tied for 29th with 5.55.

On the beam, “Macyn had our only no-fall beam routine. She scored a personal best of 8.6 to place third,” Wollschlager remarked. “Raina also performed a personal best with a 7.35 to place 21st.” Madilyn tied for 22nd with a 7.25. Hannah tied for 27th with a 6.9. Jada Leigh placed 31st with her 6.65, and Aria hit an individual high with a 6.55 to place 32nd.

“On the Floor, consistently solid jumps and strong tumbling passes, made for four of six personal-best floor routines,” Wollschlager commented. Macyn with a 9.15 placed third. Hannah’s 9.05 placed fourth. Raina at 8.3 (personal best) placed 22nd. Madilyn at 8.2 (personal best) placed 26th. Jada Leigh’s 7.75 (personal best) put her in 28th place, and Aria at 7.45 (personal best) earned 30th place.

In the All Around competition, Macyn took fourth place with 32.5 points (personal best). Hannah tied for 14th with 30.8. Raina took 20th with 29.15 (personal best). Madilyn secured 23rd with her score of 28.35 points.

What’s next? The Lady Bulldogs take a holiday break until January 6 when they go on the road to Sisseton. That meet starts at 11 a.m. On January 8, the Milbank girls will be on the move again. They travel to Hendricks for a meet that begins at 6 p.m.
