The Middle School Student Council challenged all the Middle School students to raise $1,600 in pennies to purchase presents for the ICAP Angel Tree. The students whooshed by the $1600 mark and collected a grand total of $4200. Additional money will go to purchase clothing for kids in the community.

‌“We are blown away at the amount these kids raised,” remarked Heidi Wellnitz, counselor at the middle school. “They truly jumped on board and went all in!”

‌A twist to the traditional penny war meant all coins counted positive for the class that collected it, and dollar bills made them go backwards. During the three-week battle, the lead changed several times. In the end, Mrs. Dallman’s sixth grade homeroom class was named the winner.
