Lady Bulldog Tyra Berry put up 13 points, including three 3-pointers, in a tough, but close battle against the Hamlin Lady Chargers on December 21 on the road. Milbank eventually took their first loss of the season at 39-32. Brian Pauli, head coach for Milbank, said, “Credit the Hamlin defense for making us uncomfortable. We struggled on the offensive end.”

Claire Snaza was the only other Lady Bulldog who flirted with double figures. She dropped in nine points and added six rebounds and a game-high three blocks. Belle Pauli scored six points and pulled down six rebounds. Isabella Anderson and Josie Riveland each made a bucket. Hamlin gave Milbank just four tries at the free throw line. Snaza connected on one.

Milbank downed 14 of 43 shooting for nearly 33 percent. They hit three of 13 from beyond the arc for 23 percent.

Lady Charger Addison Neuendorf scored a game-high 18 points. She also grabbed five rebounds. Musande Kabwe had 10 points and five rebounds. Shayne Fritz made six points and four rebounds. Marissa Bawdon contributed five points and two rebounds.

Hamlin nailed 14 of 16 from the charity stripe for 87.5 percent, but lagged behind Milbank at 11 of 45 to finish with a field goal percentage of 24 percent. The Lady Chargers experienced even less success from beyond the arc. They knocked down only three of 21 for 14 percent.

What’s next? Milbank goes back on the road to face Florence-Henry on December 28.
