The Lady Bulldogs brought down the Lady Pheasants 52-17 on January 11. The win stretched Milbank’s winning streak to three in the new year. They now sit at 5-4 overall and at No. 2 in Region 1 at 2-0.

The Lady Bulldogs outgunned the Lady Pheasants from everywhere on the floor. By halftime, Milbank held a 32-9 lead and increased it to 49-17 at the end of three. The Lady Dogs finished by holding Redfield scoreless in the fourth to easily keep them at bay and bag the win.

Isabella Anderson and Tyra Berry put up 14 points apiece to power Milbank. Claire Snaza made eight. Belle Pauli dropped in six. Siera Wenzl and Josie Riveland each scored five. Pauli also secured five rebounds. Anna Neugebauer had four. Berry and Riveland each pulled down two.

The Lady Bulldogs shot 49 percent from the floor, including six of 17 from beyond the arc for just over 35 percent. Milbank downed four of seven free throws for 57 percent.

The Lady Pheasants outshot Milbank from the charity stripe. They hit three of four for 75 percent. However, they struggled to hit their field goals, and made just 29 percent overall and 20 percent from long range. Redfield’s Katie Rozell was the only Redfield player to get into double figures. She scored 10 points. Charli Jungwith added four. Jadit Puok had two, and Chloe Zens hit a free throw. Jungwith and Addisyn Evans each grabbed two rebounds to lead Redfield.

What’s next? Milbank is scheduled to go on the road Tuesday, January 16, to face Waubay-Summit. The Lady Mustangs possess a 6-3 record that includes a win over Clark-Willow Lake and a loss to Florence-Henry.
