MHS Students Audition for All-State Band

Auditions for 25 MHS students were recorded on Friday, January 19, in Milbank. The musicians are hopeful of being included in the 2024 All-State Band – the top high school band in South Dakota. Results will be announced by February 21.

The South Dakota All State Band concert will be held at T.F. Riggs High School in Pierre on March 23. Auditioning for the SD All State Band also qualifies the MHS students for the 2024 North Area Honor Band in Aberdeen next December. The students are instructed by Susan Karels (Grades 6-12 Band) with assistance from Mrs. Deb Rausch.

Second Row:
Ruth Luis Gomez (junior flute), Alexis Meyer (freshman clarinet), Yanderyn Olivares Zuniga (sophomore alto saxophone), Krista Nies (sophomore trombone), and Camryn Sovell (sophomore trumpet).

Third Row:
Kayla Schweer (freshman clarinet), and Kalli Grong (sophomore flute).

Anna Neugebauer (sophomore trumpet), Sophia Whitlow (senior clarinet), Rachel Schulte (senior clarinet), Brooke Mumbauer (senior flute), and Isabella Vogel (senior flute).

Sam Shelstad (freshman tuba), Joe Schulte (senior euphonium), Charles Whitesitt (junior trombone), Jack terDenge (freshman french horn), Carlos Olivares Zuniga (junior clarinet), and Connor Wiik (senior trumpet).
