Lady Bulldogs Josie Riveland and Claire Snaza went on a 27-point roll to defeat Deuel on January 25, in Clear Lake. Riveland scored 15 points and Snaza had 12. Averie Schuneman contributed eight points in Milbank’s 49-16 victory over the Lady Cardinals. Isabella Anderson added six. Belle Pauli put up four. Tyra Berry and Ella Sandvig each made one basket. Riveland also led Milbank with three boards. Pauli and Berry pulled down two apiece.
Josie Anderson was Deuel’s leading scorer with six points. Gracelyn Nielsen made four. Camdyn Peterreins and Jaycee Hourigan and Kaitlyn Gubrud each scored one bucket..
The Lady Bulldogs knocked in 20 of 40 shots to collect on 50 percent from the floor, including 40 percent from long range. Deuel seriously lagged behind Milbank with an overall shooting percentage of about 20 percent and less than 20 percent from outside the arc. The two teams were evenly matched at the free throw line. Deuel downed five of eight for 62.5 percent and Milbank hit three of five for 60 percent.
