Tate Pew and Rylan Wendland, both eighth graders, represented Milbank Middle School at the 25th Annual Middle School All-State Band event held March 1-2 in Mitchell. Pew plays the trumpet and Wendland is a percussionist. Both were members of the Festival Band. The Festival Band was under the direction of Dr. Larry Peterson. Peterson is the band director at Marshall High School in Marshall, Minnesota.

The Festival Band performed: “Fanfare for the Unsung Hero”, “March of the Dwarfs”, “At Water’s Edge”, “Too Much Percussion”, “Palette”, and “Hillside March.” Susan Karels, band director for grades 6-12 in the Milbank School District, accompanied the students to the event.
