Spring is just around the corner and so is the 2024 Special Olympics Spring Track & Field Day. This year’s event will again be hosted in Milbank and is set for Friday, May 3. On Wednesday, April 17, an organizational meeting will be held for anyone interested in volunteering. The meeting will start at 6 p.m. in the middle school and high school lunchroom.
Peggy Greiner, co-coordinator of the event, says, “We need volunteers to measure, retrieve shot put balls, run timers and ribbon writers, guide athletes to where they need to go, and be recorders, starters, and servers of food. Opening ceremonies begin at 8:30 a.m. on May 3 and the races wrap up around 4 p.m.
