Milbank’s Special Olympics basketball cheerleader, Jaden Athey, won first place at the Cheerleading Competition held at Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell on March 23 during the 2024 Special Olympics State Basketball Tournament.

“She was truly incredible and performed the cheers by herself in front of 10 DWU cheerleaders,” Milbank’s head coach Abbey Trapp commented. Jaden also received an individual Spirit-Sportsmanship award.

“Thank you to all the families, staff members, and friends who traveled down to Mitchell to watch these athletes compete,” Trapp said.  We appreciate all your support.”
