Kevin Schuelke, director of Grant County Emergency Management, reminds residents that local siren testing will be conducted in various communities on Wednesday, April 10. The Volunteer Fire alerting siren will sound at 10 a.m. and the Storm/ Tornado siren alert will sound at 10:15 a.m. Schuelke emphasized the purpose of the test is to allow people to hear and understand the difference. “Keep in mind that the sirens rotate on poles,” Schuelke added

Sirens Sounds:
– The Fire Alerting siren is a wavering tone that runs 30 seconds or less.
– The Tornado/Storm siren is a steady blast that runs for an extended period of time
