Stephanie was born on January 27, 1978, in Watertown, SD, to David and Patty (Opitz) Waletich. She was the youngest of seven children. She graduated from Milbank High School in 1996 and Lake Area Technical Institute with a Cosmetology degree.

Steph married the love of her life, Chris Holscher, on July 17, 1999. Together, they were blessed with two children, Bailee and Abe, and a recent grandson, Archie!!

Family was by far the most important thing to Stephanie. She loved being a mom, a wife, and, most recently, a grandma. The three weeks she spent as a grandparent were the happiest three weeks of her life. She was also very involved with Sleep in Heavenly Peace and the CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) for Children program to help the less fortunate youth in the area.

She loved long walks with her dog, Si, being outside in her pool, and maintaining the lawn, landscaping, and plants in her yard. At the end of a full day, she loved nothing more than sitting around the firepit, having a marshmallow with caramel s’mores, and just enjoying the company around her.

Throughout her life, Stephanie was a constant source of strength and encouragement, always there for her family and friends no matter the circumstances. Her kindness, compassion, and selflessness touched the lives of all who knew her. Those who were blessed to know Steph knew that she had a heart of gold. She always wholeheartedly gave to others without expecting anything in return, and that continued until her final days with us by donating her organs. For this, she is our HERO, for the final gift of her earthly body to others so they may flourish and gain additional healing throughout their life.

She will be deeply missed but forever remembered for her boundless generosity and enduring presence in our hearts.

Stephanie is survived by her husband, Chris Holscher of Aberdeen; two children, daughter Bailee (Trevor) Naasz and their son Archie of Sioux Falls, SD, and son Abe Holscher and girlfriend Jaidyn Feickert of Aberdeen, SD; her 4 legged Best Friend, Si; parents David and Patty Waletich of Milbank, SD; siblings: Ronnie (Val) Waletich of Milbank, SD, Tammie (Dean) Hartman of St. Cloud, FL, Don (Rene) Waletich of Fairmont, MN, Amy (James) Cazlavka of Blue Springs, MO, Jodi (Paul) Peschong of Milbank, SD, and Tom Waletich of Milbank, SD. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In Honor of Steph, we would like everyone to spend time with a loved one and walk some of the paths around Wylie Lake, Storybook Land, and Wylie Park. She truly found peace on these walks and enjoyed taking in Mother Nature and many of her creatures.
