The Big Stone City Branch Library is holding a book sale from May 1-22 during normal library hours. Books are being sold by donation. All proceeds will be used to buy supplies and prizes for the 2024 Summer Reading Program for children. This year’s theme is Adventure Begins at Your Library.

Register for the annual Summer Reading Program now through May 22. Summer Reading is designed for children ages five through fifth grade. Parents are invited to stop by the library to fill out the registration form.

The free program will begin on June 5 and conclude on July 17. Children will read books at home to earn prizes. Reading log sheets will be turned in each Wednesday at the library. Fun activities created around the theme will also be offered at the library each Wednesday.

On Wednesday, June 26, children in the Summer Reading Program children and their families will be entertained by a ventriloquist using wooden puppets. The performance will take place at the Big Stone City Community Center. The Minnwest Bank in Big Stone City is sponsoring this special event.
