Milbank took second place as a team at the 69th Annual Mathematics Contest in which over 330 students from 25 area schools across South Dakota, North Dakota, and Minnesota participated. Individually, Amelia Pederson brought home third place and Katie Kruger secured fourth place in Advanced Algebra. Eight MHS students earned an honorable mention. The event, created and sponsored by Northern State University, was held on Thursday, April 18, at the Barnett Center on the campus of NSU in Aberdeen.
Medals were awarded to the top-five finishers in each division. Each year, the school in each class with the highest percentage combined score across all four divisions is awarded the traveling trophy. Milbank had the Class A-AA trophy this past year, but relinquished it to great Plains Lutheran School this year.
