Fishing Derby and Fireworks Set for 4th of July Celebration in Milbank 

It’s going to be a Star-Spangled Independence Day this Thursday, July 4. Head to Lake Farley Park for fishing, freedom, and fireworks! 

The Fishing Derby starts at 4 p.m. and will be hosted by Rick and Wendy Hentges and the Sons of the American Legion with 100 fishing poles to be given away to kids up to age 14.. Bait and tackle will also be provided. Fishing will continue until 6 p.m. During the Fishing Derby, grab a snack of Grammy’s Fudge or El Conde Taqueria food truck. 

Raffle tickets to benefit the fireworks show will also be on sale. Get one for $5, six for $20, or bring your Washington and Lincolns and get a stack.. Raffle tickets will remain on sale through July 19. Raffle prizes include an Electric Bike, a Yeti Cooler, and a pair of Zero Gravity Chairs. The drawing will be held at the Farley Fest Concert on July 20. You need not be present to win.

Tommy’s Popcorn stand opens at 7:30 p.m. and will stay open until 10:30. Fireworks are set to start at dusk or around 10 p.m. The show is organized by MAC (the Millbank Chamber of Commerce).
