The annual Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) picnic was recently held at the Milbank Visitor Center. The meal was hosted by the Grant-Roberts Area Disabilities Support Group and sponsored by First Interstate Bank.
Duane Tillman from the Knights of Columbus and his helper, Jason, conducted the bingo games. An executive proclamation signed by the mayor of Milbank was also presented to the group. The proclamation stated:
CITY OF MILBANK
OFFICE OF THE MAYOR
WHEREAS, South Dakota was founded with hard work, perseverance, sharing, caring, love, and family; and, WHEREAS, the City of Milbank and its constituents celebrate the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act; and WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper for the Mayor to recognize the contributions and exceptional work being done by all involved.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Pat Raffety, Mayor of the City of Milbank, South Dakota, do hereby proclaim July 29th, 2024, as GRANT ROBERTS AREA DISABILITY SUPPORTS DAY In the City of Milbank.
