The Lady Bulldogs volleyball team, led by head coach Nancy Hoeke, continued their strong start this season with a decisive victory over the visiting Wheaton-Herman-Norcross Warriors on Monday, September 9. Milbank powered through the match in three straight sets, winning 25-22, 25-20, and 25-18 

Milbank’s service game proved to be key to the win. Addisyn Krause led the team by hitting 18 of her 19 serves, including five aces. Kenzie Kooima followed by completing 12 of 15 serves, including three aces. Isabella Anderson went eight of nine with two aces. Anderson also led the team in attacks with seven kills on 17 of 20 attempts. Anderson delivered a solo block – the only one by Milbank.

Claire Snaza and Siera Wenzl each added six kills and Addison Pauli contributed five to help the Bulldogs maintain a relentless attack that kept the Warriors on their heels throughout much of the match.

Addisyn Krause recorded 16 assists on 56 of 57 attempts. Rylee Scoular added four assists on a perfect 10 of 10 attempts. Krause also tallied six digs, to contribute on both sides of the ball. Ella Sandvig led the team with 14 digs. Wenzl added 11 to reinforce the Lady Bulldogs’ backcourt. The Lady Warriors were unable to record a single dig in the game. 

As of Sept 12, Milbank holds a 3-2 season record.

JV  and C Team Action
Milbank’s JV team defeated Wheaton-Herman-Norcross 2-1 in a hard-fought match. Final scores were 23-25, 25-21, and 21-19. 

The Lady Bulldogs’ C-team also secured a 2-0 victory.  They won 25-22 and 25-13.
