Lady Bulldogs Win – Sweep Spearfish in Doubles 

The Lady Bulldogs defeated the Lady Spartans of Spearfish 7-2 on Saturday, September 13. The two teams met in Sioux Falls.

At No. 1, Jenna Korstjens took an 8-10 loss to Alli Mondloch. No. 2, Ashlynn Lamp, defeated Lydia Schutz 10-3. Caitlyn Frerichs lost a close match. She tied Kim Heisler  9-9 and fell 9-11 in the tiebreaker. Jericho Jones, at No. 4, defeated Elena McCabe10-4. Payton Lamp took down Callisa Alderson 10-7, and at No. 6, Charlotte Swanson defeated Liberty Herweh10-3. 

Milbank swept the doubles round 3-0.  Korstjens and A. Lamp defeated Mondloch and Eliza Bailey 10-2.  Jones and P. Lamp crushed Schutz and Heisler10-1. Frerichs and Swanson defeated McCabe and Alderson 10-3.

In other MHS  tennis action, the Lady Bulldogs faced Watertown on September 9. Milbank took the loss at 9-0.  Korstjens was defeated by Ellie Zink 6-2 and 6-3. A. Lamp went down against Leyla Meester 6-0 and 6-0. Frerichs lost to Faith Berg 6-0 and 6-1. Jones was defeated by Sophia Nichols 6-0 and 6-0. P. Lamp lost to Cayda Weiss 6-1 and 6-2. Swanson was defeated by Jade Smith 6-0 and 6-1.

In doubles play, Korstjens and A.Lamp lost to Zink and Meester 6-0 and 6-0. Jones and P. Lamp were defeated by Berg and Nichols 6-2 and 6-0. Frerichs and Swanson lost to Weiss and Smith 6-1 and 6-1.
