Go West this weekend, along with the troubadours Kerry Grombacher and Aspen Black on Saturday, October 12. The duo will perform in concert featuring stories of the American West told in songs and accompanied by guitar, bass, and mandolin. The event is free and suitable for most ages.  Everyone is welcome to attend courtesy of the Friends of Grant County Library.

The concert will take place at Peaceful Pines Senior Living at 410 E. 10th Avenue in Milbank. The music starts at 10:30 a.m.

Aspen Black is a singer and songwriter, cowgirl poet, multi-instrumentalist, educator, and award-winning horsewoman. According to Grombacher and Black’s marketing materials, “Fans describe her voice as mesmerizing, and her songwriting and poetry as spot-on.”  Black’s, Born to be a Cowgirl is a 2024 International Singer Songwriters Association (ISSA) Finalist for Female Album of the Year.  Her song of the same name won the Western Writers of America 2024 Spur Finalist Award for Best Western Song. It peaked at No. 1 on the International Western Music Association’s (IWMA) radio charts.

Kerry Grombacher will be playing opposite of Black on guitar and mandolin. His original song, “Range of the Buffalo”, was the 2021 IWMA Song of the Year. His songs have been featured on the ABC-TV adventure travel show, Born to Explore. His tunes have also been recorded by a list of artists that includes Jim Jones, Belinda Gail, The Texas Trailhands, Gary Prescott, and Trails & Rails.

The Grant County Library will be closed Saturday, October 12 and Monday, October 14.
