Bryan Meyer and Bulldogs Win Big at NEC Cross Country Meet

Bryan Meyer won the individual first-place medal and the Bulldogs and the Lady Bulldogs each won second place at the Northeast Conference Cross Country Meet on October 10 in Webster.  Eric Townsend, head coach for Milbank, remarked, “Times were a little slower for everyone as the temperature was a little warmer around 80 degrees. 

According to Townsend, Milbank faced fierce competition at the conference meet, but  seven girls and six boys individually earned Top-20 All-Conference medals. Overall, both teams battled and competed hard in all races and should be in a great position for a top- three team finish next week at the Region 1A meet.”

What’s next?  The Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs head back to Webster tomorrow, Wednesday October 16, to compete in the Region 1A meet. Start time is 2 p.m.  The varsity girls race first, the varsity boys follow. The JV race concludes the day. The top-three teams and top-20 individuals in the varsity races qualify for the 2024 Class A State Championships. That meet will be held in Rapid City on Saturday, October 26.
