Lady Bulldogs Display Strong Performance at State Tennis

Coach Abbey Trapp congratulated the MHS girls tennis team at the conclusion of the 2024 SDHSAA Class A State Tennis Championships. The tournament was held at Sioux Park in Rapid City on Monday and Tuesday, October 7-8.  “Everyone played hard and we got some very nice wins,” Trapp commented. 

Jenna Korstjens, Ashlynn Lamp, and Charlotte Swanson were consolation champions and Payton Lamp made it to the 5 and 6- place semis in singles.  Jericho Jones and Caitlyn Frerichs played extremely well, but did not place. 

Milbank took 10th place as a team. St Thomas More claimed the state title – the first win for the Lady Cavaliers since 2015. They had finished as the runners up in both 2022 and 2023 behind Sioux Falls Christian.
