Bonnie Remboldt

Bonnie Remboldt, 85, of Fargo, ND, passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at Milbank Area Hospital – Avera Health in Milbank.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 11, 2024, at First Lutheran Church in Fargo, ND. Inurnment will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at Seventh-Day Adventist Cemetery near Gackle, ND.

Bonnie LaVonne Kunz was born on September 13, 1939, in Heaton, ND, to Charles Kunz Sr. and Anna (Osomon) Kunz. She was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith. One of eight children, she attended school and graduated in 1957. After completing her education, she began her career as a teller at First National Bank, later renamed to Norwest, and finally Wells Fargo. Bonnie dedicated 38 years to banking before retiring in 1996 as a personal banker. 

Bonnie raised her children: Dean, Scott, and Michelle, in Fargo, ND. She married Russell Remboldt Sr. on January 2, 1990, in Fargo. While living on the farm with Russ, Bonnie took great joy in caring for the lawn and tending to her flowers. In retirement, Bonnie and Russ enjoyed spending winters in Arizona, as well as camping, golfing, polka dancing, and shuffleboard. Russ passed away in 2008, and Bonnie continued living in Fargo, where she enjoyed volunteering at the local thrift stores and the VFW in Fargo. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Fargo. 

Bonnie is survived by her children: Dean (Shelley) Smith of Milbank, SD; Scott (Pam) Smith of Summerville, SC; Michelle (Todd) Wirth of Rapid City, SD; Russell (Teresa) Remboldt Jr. of Gackle, ND; and Holly (David) Wald of Edgeley, ND. She is also survived by her two brothers: Charles (Connie) Kunz Jr. of Fessenden, ND; and Bob (Judy) Kunz of Bullhead City, AZ; along with ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Remboldt Sr.; her parents: Charles and Anna Kunz; and five siblings: Alice, Irene, Leona, Lawrence, and Gordon.
