Lyle Clifford Hoeke, 68, of Bella Vista, Arkansas, passed away on November 21st, 2024.
Lyle was born on July 12th, 1956 in Milbank, South Dakota, the son of Clifford and Darlene Hoeke. Lyle was the second of five children. He graduated from Brookings High School in 1974. After high school, he enlisted into the Army National Guard where he served for 6 years. Four of those years were spent recruiting in Minot, ND.
On September 10th, 1977, Lyle married Laurie Ness in Minot, ND. Together they raised four children: Matthew, Erin, Taylor and Brendon.
In 1979, Lyle accepted a position for Morris-Rodweeder as the District Sales Manager in Milbank, SD. In 1987, Lyle and Laurie purchased Top Hat Lanes. Lyle spent many hours dedicated to the bowling alley and was named the 2003 Bowling Proprietor of the year. The bowling alley brought many cherished friendships and memories. His love for the game was just one example of the passion and dedication he brought to the bowling life in Milbank.
In 2001, Lyle made the decision to become sober. His family and friends admired his dedication to his sobriety. He was open about his sobriety and always willing to talk with those struggling with the disease of alcoholism.
In 2016, Lyle and Laurie made the move to Bella Vista, AR. In AR Lyle worked for The Department of Homeland Security as a TSA agent at the XNA Airport. He worked there for three years. While in Arkansas, Lyle picked up the hobby of woodworking. He spent
many hours in his shop tinkering. They enjoyed “trivia nights” with the gang, Razorback Athletics, and estate sales. Lyle’s love for sports was evident in his two tv’s in the living room, his many notifications, and knowledge of every game.
Lyle is survived by his beloved wife Laurie; his four children, Matthew (Amanda), Elkhorn, NE, Erin (Tom), Madison, SD, Taylor (Joe), Omaha, NE, and Brendon (Emma) Elkhorn, NE; his nine grandsons (Keaton, Cason, Nash, Stockton, Elliott, Otto, Hugh, Ripken, and Bodhi); his siblings; Dave, Debbie (Robin), Scott (Dawn), and Sara (Dave), in-laws Oryls (Myron), Stan (Robin), Ken (Deb), Diane (Tom), Pauline, and many nieces and nephews.
