Swig or slurp, and share your soup of choice at the all-new Soup Walk when Hometown Christmas flicks the switch to start the holidays this Saturday, December 7, in downtown Milbank.
Why choose between going to the evening events hungry or not going? Now, you can have it all. Head to the Milbank Area Chamber (MACC) table at ACT Accurate Tax & Bookkeeping (221 S Main) starting at 4:30 p.m. Get your Soup Walk ticket for just $5. The Soup Walk starts at 5 p.m. and goes until 7:30 p.m. or till it’s gone.
Try hot and delicious soups from your favorite local restaurants –chicken wild rice from The Bank, baked potato from Triple Dip, pork pozole –a traditional Mexican stew from Guadalupe’s, and creamy sausage tortellini soup from The Millstone. (Guadalupe’s and The Millstone’s soups will be served at ACT.) Don’t forget to vote for your favorite. A People’s Choice winner will be announced.
Fill up and warm up just in time for the Standstill Lighted Parade from 5-7:30 p.m., the Tree Lighting Ceremony at 6 pm, and Pix with Santa and Mrs Claus after the tree is lit. Plus, meet the new Snow Queen, Miss Milbank 2025, Jericho Jones, and Little Miss Milbank for 2025, Hawley Kirchberg.
Jamie Henderson, executive director of MACC, the sponsor of Hometown Christmas, invites everyone to join the celebration. “This year, Hometown Christmas has moved to North Main Street and has added new events.”
