The Lady Bulldog gymnasts traveled to the Holiday Invitational at Britton-Hecla on Tuesday, December 17. They returned home with third -place honors and a sleigh full of accomplishments. The team earned a  season-high score of 128.95, season-high beam and floor totals, and 13 personal-best scores for their performances. (The team’s season high score eclipsed their previous high of 126.35 just set on December 14 in Aberdeen.) Hannah Brown led the Lady Bulldogs at Britton-Hecla by collecting three second-place finishes.

At the Holiday Invite, Timbree Spors made her varsity debut. She presented her long hang kip and scored 5.25 to place 27th. Raina Untalan followed with a clean routine to score 5.9 to tie for 20th place. Aria Prasnicki and Jada Leigh Wellnitz each performed their long hang-long hang flyaway connection. Aria scored 6.35 to take 16th place. Jada Leigh scored a personal best of 6.7 for 14th place. At 6.75, Macyn  Duunihoo took 13th place. Hannah performed a personal best no-stop routine. She received a score of 7.85 to tie for second place.

“Even though we had to count four falls, the team had their highest beam total of the season at 31.8,” commented Kelly Wollschlager, head coach for Milbank. Jada Leigh scored 6.25 to tie for 26th. Aria performed a no-fall routine and scored a personal best of 7.25 to take 22nd place. Hannah scored  7.7 for 15th place. Gemma scored 7.9 for 13th place. Macyn scored 8.05 for 12th place.  Raina performed a no-fall routine to tie her personal-best score of 8.15 and also tie for 9th place at the meet.

“Our Floor performance was another highest team total this season at 35.7,” Wollschlager noted. Jada Leigh scored 7.85 for 24th place.  Aria performed a personal best, including high jumps, to score 8.35 to tie for 14th place. Gemma tied her personal- best score of 8.45 to place 13th in the meet. Raina performed a personal-best routine with solid tumbling and dance for a score of 8.6 to take 11th place. Macyn scored  9.2 to acquire her second pre-qualifying floor score. She placed fourth in the meet. Hannah placed second by scoring 9.45.  She also earned her third pre-qualifying Floor score for the State meet. 

In the Vault competition, Hannah scored 8.85 to take second place and also pre-qualify for State. Macyn scored 8.6 to tie for fifth. Raina scored 8.2 to tie for 15th, Gemma took 22nd place at 8.1,. Jada Leigh scored 8.15 to tie for 20th place. Aria tied for 24th with her score of 7.95. Jada Leigh, Aria, and Raina each recorded a personal best. 

Regarding the All-Around totals: Hannah accrued 33.85 to tie for third place. Macyn had  32.6 to take seventh place. Raina earned 30.85 for 10th place. Aria collected 29.9 to tie for 13th place. Jada Leigh made 28.95 points to finish in 18th place.
