The Milbank Area gymnastics team recorded a season-high score of 129.15 points at Sisseton on January 4. Br 130.7  siss 129.7

According to Kelly Wollschlager, head coach for the Lady Bulldogs, in the Floor competition, Hannah Brown changed a jump connection and cleaned up her execution to score 9.3 and bring home an individual first place for the Lady Bulldogs. Macyn Dunnihoo added a front tuck-front tuck tumbling pass into her routine to score 9.2 and walk away with second-place honors. Raina Untalan scored 8.35 for ninth place. Aria Prasnicki scored 7.3 for 15th and Gemma Street scored 7.15 to take 16th place.  Madilyn Sletten, making her first appearance this season, scored 7.0 to secure 17th place.

On the Beam, Hannah’s solid no-fall routine earned her a score of 8.5 to win first place. Raina also had a no-fall beam routine. She scored 8.1 for sixth place. Jada Leigh scored 7.3 for 12th place.  Macyn hit 7.2 for 13th place. Aria came in at 6.6 for 15th. Gemma landed in 16th place at 6.35.

On the Vault, Hannah performed a solid handspring full to earn second place at 8.9. Macyn was right behind her with a solid stuck quarter -3/4 to score 8.75 for fourth  place. Wollschlager noted, “Jada Leigh (Wellnitz) had a clean half-half with nice flight for a new personal best. She tied for eighth place with an 8.35.” Raina scored an 8.3 for 10th place. Madilyn scored 8.2 for 12th place, and Gemma took 15th place at 8.05. 

“On the Bars, Jada Leigh performed a clean new personal best score of 7.85 to take second place,” Wollscchlager said. “Macyn had a no-stop routine scoring 7.45 and tying her for fifth place.  Aira connected her long hang kips to score a new personal best of 7.3 for ninth place.”  Hannah scored 7.0 for 11th place. Raina scored 6.6 for 15th, and Madilyn scored 5.6 for 17th place.

In the All-Around competition, Hanna at 33.7 collected second place. Macyn, at 32.6, earned fifth place. Raina scored a personal best of 31.35 to tie for 7th place.

What’s next? The Lady Bulldogs head to Hendricks, Minnesota on January 13.
