Lady Bulldogs Tangle With the Tigers

The Lady Bulldogs experienced their first loss in six games on their home court in Milbank on January 23.  Isabella Anderson and Tyra Berry combined for 24 points, but it was still not enough to stop the Groton LadyTigers. Milbank was defeated 42-34. 

Anna Neugebauer added seven points for Milbank. Siera Wenzl made two free throws and Avery Schuneman dropped in one. Neugebauer led the defense with six rebounds.  Belle Pauli and Wenzl pulled down four. Anderson had three.Claire Snaza and Berry each nabbed two. Schuneman had one. Anderson also made three assists and two steals. Berry pulled off eight steals.

Faith Traphagen was Groton’s leading scorer. She recorded 11 points.Taryn Traphagen made nine. Rylee Dunker put up seven. Chesney Weber led the Lady Tigers with seven rebounds. She also contributed five points.

Milbank shot just 26 percent from the floor, including 24 percent from beyond the arc. They downed 10 of 18 attempts from the line for nearly 56 percent. Groton hit under 39 percent of their shots overall, including 35 percent from long range. They finished at seven of 18 from the foul line for 39 percent.
