Milbank Gymnasts Collect Season High Points at Deuel

Milbank Area’s Lady Bulldogs traveled to Clear Lake for a gymnastics invitational hosted by Deuel on Saturday, February 1. Seven schools competed. Milbank accrued a season-high 132.4 points to take third-place. The Lady Dawgs were edged out of second by just one point by the Lady Cardinals of Deuel.
Milbank started out on the balance beam by tying their highest team beam score of the season. Raina Untalan scored 8.3 to take 16th place and record her third pre-qualifying score for State. Macyn Dunnihoo earned an 8.24 for 17th place. Hannah Brown scored 8.0 to tie for 23rd. Jada Leigh Wellnitz performed a solid flight front walkover in her routine to score a personal best 7.45. She landed in 27th place. Marley Pinkert made her varsity debut on the beam and performed a clean routine to score 7.25 to place 29th.

In the Floor Exercise, Macyn tied for second place with a personal best of 9.4. Hannah tied for sixth with a 9.15. Raina posted an 8.5 to take 16th place. Nuria Rodriguez presented a clean, strong tumbling routine to etch an 8.45. She tied for 18th place. Marley received a 7.75 to tie for 29th.
On the Vault, Hannah performed a clean, stuck handspring-full. She scored a personal best of 9.05 to earn second place. Macyn scored 8.65 for 10th place. Jada Leigh received an 8.35 to tie for 20th. Mady Sletten put up an 8.25 for 23rd place. Raina secured an 8.2 to tie for 24th place.
On the Bars, Jada Leigh took 11th with her 7.7. Aria Prasnicki forged a personal best at 7.65 to tie with Hannah for 12th place. Macyn rallied for a personal best of 7.6 to take 14th place. Mady connected her long-hang kips to score 6.5 to take home 29th place.
Hannah and Macyn competed in the All-Around. Macyn accumulated 33.9 points to tie for eighth place. Hannah compiled a total of 33.85 points to take 10th place. Estelline-Hendricks won first place at the invitational with 144.80 points.
