Berry Hits Seven 3-Pointers at the Clash

The 2025 DAK XII/ NEC Clash girls basketball action was intense on Saturday, February 8, in Madison. The annual 10-game event showcases matchups of 20 teams from the two conferences. In some of the most heated contests, Tri-Valley beat Rapid City Christian 66-62 in overtime, Vermillion defeated Sisseton 47-46, and Milbank came up just five points shy of Canton at 52-47. 

Tyra Berry racked up 24 points for Milbank. She nailed seven 3-pointers and downed three points from the line. Claire Snaza and Isabella Anderson added eight points apiece. Snaza attacked the glass for 10 rebounds and Anderson pulled down nine. Anderson also had four assists and picked off the ball twice. Snaza also recorded an assist. 

Belle Pauli grabbed 10 rebounds to go with her three points, one assist, and a steal. Josie Riveland put in four points, made two assists, and got two rebounds. Avery Schuneman made three assists and three rebounds. Siera Wenzl contributed an assist, a rebound, and a steal. Rylee Scoular secured a rebound.

Although Milbank trailed 27-20 at the half, they managed to pull ahead by one point at 35-34 by the end of the third. The Lady Bulldogs cooled down in the fourth and fell behind by eight,but  they continued to fight  till the buzzer. A basket in the last five seconds of the game got them within five before the buzzer sounded.

Milbank hit 30 percent of their shots from the floor and also 30 percent from beyond the arc. They collected six of nine from the stripe for 67 percent.

What’s next? Milbank hosts Sisseton in a doubleheader tonight, Tuesday, February 11.  It’s Pink Night! It’s also Boys Senior Night and DARE night!
