Holscher Leads Bulldogs in Win Over Sisseton

Milbank faced Sisseton for a fast-paced night of basketball at the Milbank Armory on Tuesday, February 11. The Redmen’s Derrick Flute put up a game-high 18 points, but Milbank had enough weapons in their arsenal to steamroll their way to a 55-36 victory.  Lincoln Holscher, a 6’ 3” freshman for the Bulldogs, spearheaded their scoring with 13 points. He also hauled down six rebounds. 

Bryan Meyer and Emmett Hanson made eight points apiece. Meyer had four boards and Hanson grabbed a game-high 14. Hanson also recorded an assist, a steal, and two blocks. Sam Rick scored seven points and secured four rebounds. He added two assists and two steals. Graham Lightfield made six points, an assist, three rebounds, and a steal. Meyer also added two assists and two steals.

Layten Osowski made four points and three boards. Ryan Keeton scored four points and made an assist and a steal. Charlie Peery made three points and snapped up a rebound. Esteban Abrego made a bucket and a steal. Jack Howard made an assist and two rebounds. Emmett Snaza snagged a rebound.

The Bulldogs hit 31 percent of their shots from the floor in the first half. They warmed up to make 12 of 26 in the second half for 46 percent and finished the game at 38 percent overall. They connected on four of 22 from beyond the arc and knocked in five of 10 from the foul line.

Sisseton made 32 percent of their shots from the floor. They went three of 16 from long range and nine of 13 from the stripe for 69 percent. After Flute, Brett Hansen scored nine points, Josh Donnell made five, and Dana Bravebull and Vincent Donnell each made two. Flute also led with five rebounds. Bravebull pulled down four.

Milbank also celebrated Senior Boys Night.  Bulldog seniors this season are Bryan Meyer, Graham Lightfield, Emmett Hanson, and Charlie Peery.
