The Bulldogs hosted Tri-Valley at the Milbank Armory on Saturday, February 15. The Bulldogs racked up 18 points from the free throw line to beef up their total and take the win with the final score at 60-48. Milbank’s Sam Rick downed nine of his 10 free throw attempts. Graham Lightfield and Jack Howard went two-for-two. Emmett Hanson hit one-of-one. Ryan Keeton knocked in three-of-five attempts, and Esteban Abrego made one-of -two. The Mustangs only acquired five points from the stripe. 

Milbank received a total of 14 points from Rick, along with five rebounds. Hanson put up 11 points and six rebounds. Lightfield made 10 points, two assists, and four rebounds. Keeton scored nine points and an assist and added a rebound and a steal.. Abrego made five points, two assists, four rebounds, and a steal. Jack Howard  hauled down a team-high seven rebounds to go with his four points and one assist. Lincoln Holscher made four points, an assist, and three rebounds. Bryan Meyer had three points, an assist, three rebounds and a steal. Layten Osowski chipped in a rebound.

The Bulldogs made 36 percent of their shots from the floor, 24 percent from behind the arc, and a solid 82 percent from the line. The Mustangs made 38 percent of their shots from the floor, one of three from beyond the arc, and 50 percent of their free throw attempts.

Tri-Valley’s leading scorers were Ty Oyen and Brody Jewett – each with 12 points – and Teagin Gacke with 11. Alex Wingen and Kobe Krume posted five apiece. Aiden Bunde made two points. Oyen also led the Mustangs with a game-high nine rebounds. Landon Hughes brought down five.

What’s next?  The Bulldogs welcome the Webster Bearcats to the Milbank Armory this Friday night, February 21. Boys C, JV, and Varsity are scheduled to play.
