Rick Makes 20 Points to Help Beat the Bearcats

The Bulldogs defeated the Bearcats of Webster 68-40 on Friday, February 21. Sam Rick put up 20 points, including five 3-pointers, to lead the Dawgs. He also had four boards and a steal. Emmett Hanson posted a double-double with 14 points, 11 robberies, and two blocks. Graham Lightfield scored 13 points, including three 3-pointers. He added four assists, four rebounds, and a steal. Esteban Abrego made eight points, one assist, five boards and a steal. Jack Howard had six points, two assists and five rebounds. Charlie Peery nailed a 3-pointer. Ethan Owen  and Lincoln Holscher each downed a bucket. Owen added a rebound and Holscher made a block. Ryan Keeton made two assists, a steal, and a board. Bryan Meyer grabbed two steals. Harley Zemlicka snagged a steal. Emmett Snaza made a block, and Layten Osowski got a rebound.

The Bulldogs hit 13 of 28 shots from the floor in the first half and 15 of 31 in the second half for a stable 47.5 percent average. Milbank made nine of 26 from long range for nearly 35 percent. They hit three of six from the stripe.

Ian Lesnar, a 6’ 1” senior for the Bearcats, made 19 points, including four 4-pointers. He added eight rebounds. Freshman guard Seth Lesnar made eight points and three rebounds. The Bearcats recorded no assists; the Bulldogs had nine. Gage Wik, a 6’ 5” junior, made five points and one board. Thomas Kuecke, a 6’ senior, and Jack Shoemaker, a 6’ 4” junior, each scored three points. Shoemaker had eight rebounds and Kuecker two. Senior guard Tate Memmenga made two points and two rebounds.

The Bearcats hit 12 of 44 attempts from the floor to finish at 27 percent. They made five of 21 from beyond the arc for 24 percent. At 11 of 19 from the line, they finished at 58 percent.
