Mary Warrey, age 71, of Milbank, SD, passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at Milbank Area Hospital – Avera Health.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Central Church in Milbank, SD. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 18, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Mundwiler Funeral Home in Milbank. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Pastor Thom Bowsher and Pastor Melanie Reiners will officiate the service and interment will be at Milbank City Cemetery.
Mary Bertine (Olson) Warrey was born on June 26, 1953, in Valley City, ND, to Iver and Mina (Johnson) Olson. She grew up in Wyndmere, ND, where she was known for her kindness and determination. Following graduation from North Dakota State School of Science, she worked at the ABM Missile Site as a computer operator in Cavalier, ND.
On May 31, 1974, she married her devoted husband, James Warrey. Following their marriage, Mary and Jim relocated to Fergus Falls, MN, before finally settling in Milbank, SD, in 1978, where Mary would remain until her passing. Together they created a loving life full of wonderful memories. They were blessed with three sons: Quentin, Kenton, and Benjamin.
Throughout her career, Mary displayed an unwavering work ethic and an ability to connect with people. She served as a computer operator and a retail salesperson, and later worked at NESD Pipe Supply and Milbank Insurance as a Data Entry Clerk. Her professionalism was matched only by her warm-hearted nature, and she was admired by colleagues and clients alike.
Mary was a dedicated member of Central Church in Milbank, where her faith and commitment to service were evident in all she did. Her kindness and generosity left a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege to know her.
Mary is survived by her husband of 50 years, Jim Warrey of Milbank, SD; sons: Quentin (Amy) Warrey of Alexandria, MN; Kenton Warrey (fiancé, Angelia Hiles) of Aberdeen, SD; and Benjamin (Jamie) Warrey of Madison, SD; and six grandchildren: Jayce Warrey, Tyvan Warrey, Kaylin Warrey, Kamryn Warrey, Aadon Warrey, and Phillip Warrey.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
