Bulldogs Present End-of-Season Basketball Awards

The MHS Bulldogs held their 2024-25 basketball awards ceremony on Thursday, April 3, at Central Church in Milbank.

2024-25 Awards:
Academic All-State: Bryan Meyer, Graham Lightfield, and Emmett Hanson 
Varsity Juice Man of the Year: Jack Howard
Varsity Most Improved: Emmett Hanson
Varsity Bulldog of the Year: Sam Rick
Teammate of the Year: Charlie Peery

JV Most Improved: Ethan Owen
JV Juice Man of the Year: Harley Zemlicka
JV Bulldog of the Year: Ryan Keeton

C-Team Juice Man of the Year: Max Scoular
C-Team Bulldog of the Year: Emmett Snaza
C-Team Most Improved: Liam Street

According to Milbank’s head coach Logan Diede, the Bulldogs’ complete statistical boys basketball record book goes back as far as 1987, and points-scored data goes back even earlier. He provided career statistical notes for two senior players this season:

Graham Lightfield 
*Finished 5th all time  –  Career Assists with 178
*Finished 8th  all time  –  Assists Per Game at 2.6
*Finished 9th all time – Assist to Turnover Ratio at 1.50
*Finished 15th all time –  Career Made 3-pointers with 57

Emmett Hanson
*Finished 16^th all time  –  Career Total Rebounds with 304
*Finished 18^th all time  –  Career Offensive Rebounds with 103
*Finished 15^th all time  –  Career Defensive Rebounds with 201
*Led the NEC in rebounding during the 2024-2025 season with nine rebounds per game.

Diede thanked the Bowshers for the use of the space for the banquet and for providing great sandwiches. He also thanked the parents and students who donated chips and desserts. “It was a great way to wrap up our 2024-2025 season together!” Diede stated.
