Bulldogs Log Nice Finishes at 100th Annual Howard Wood Relays

The Milbank Bulldogs entered 18 runners in the 100th Annual Howard Wood Dakota Relays to compete against many of the Midwest’s top boys and girls for the title of the region’s best. The event was held at the historic Howard Wood Field in Sioux Falls on Friday, May 2, and Saturday, May 3.
Results for Milbank:
The Lady Bulldogs 1600-Meter Relay team brought home fourth place – the highest place finish earned by Milbank. Team members included Ella Koplin, Zayda Townsend, Adison Pauli, and Siera Wenzl. The quartet also moved into the No. 3 spot on the MHS all-time honor roll.
Bulldogs Garett Weber, Harley Zemlicka, Emmett Hanson, and Bryan Meyer took eighth place in the Medley Relay. The Lady Bulldogs Medley Relay team, composed of Jacy Dexter, Z. Townsend, Wenzl, and Koplin finished in 10th place. Dexter, Z. Townsend, Violet Johnson, and Wenzl took 12th place in the 800-Meter Relay. Meyer, Weber, Zemlicka, and Hanson finished 13th in the 1600-Meter Relay.
Z. Townsend, Macy Mueller, Bianca Berry, and Koplin collected 14th place in the 3200-Meter Relay. Dexter, Johnson, Bree Townsend, and Wenzl secured 17th place in the 400-Meter Relay. Meyer, Beckham Berry, Jeter Scoular, and Liam Heller took 19th place in the 3200-Meter Relay.
Hanson secured 20th place in the 110-Meter Hurdles. He also took 34th in the 300-Meter Hurdles. Graham Lightfield was 35th and Zemlicka was 46th in the 300-Meter Hurdles. In the Pole Vault competition, Dexter earned 23rd place for the girls, and Bryton Blauert took 24th place for the boys.
