Milbank area Scouting America Troop 45 gathered with other scouts for their annual Spring Rendezvous at Camp Iyataka on Big Stone Lake from May 2-4. Scouts were offered the opportunity to pursue merit badges in automotive maintenance or veterinary medicine while enjoying a weekend of camping, hiking, and playing games. The scouts were also able to get better acquainted with fellow scouts from across the council area and to cook and eat some amazing food.
Some of the highlights from the Rendezvous included Landon Athey, son of Derek and Talia Athey, crossing the rope bridge positioned over a ravine. The act symbolized his graduation from the Cub Scouts to Boy Scout Troop 45 and served as an official welcome. Noah Falk worked on finishing the requirements for his cooking merit badge. Together, Troop 45 planned and led the Sunday morning chapel service that concluded the weekend.
Troop 45 is sponsored in part by Grant County Combined Appeal and chartered by American Lutheran Church. Membership is open all year.
