St. Lawrence School in Milbank honored 11 students on their sixth-grade graduation today, Tuesday, May 20. Their teachers, Natasha Karels and Paula Rausch, coordinated the event. Rausch finished her 36th year as an instructor at the school. The graduation Mass and ceremony took place at St. Lawrence Catholic Church.

The 11 graduates included Kinleigh Brandenburger, Tatum Brehmer, Trinity Brehmer, Oliver Folk, Zayne Frerichs, Simon Hicks, Derek Hoffmann, Isabelle Karels, Riley Krause, Bridget Nelson, and Rosie Street.

The sixth graders sang “Go Make a Difference” to start the program. Fr. Brian Eckrich and Principal Brenda Anderson presented the graduates with their certificates. Each family was given a cord rosary made by their graduate and blessed by Fr. Brian. They read their memories of their years at St. Lawrence and then we had a slide show.

Three “last graduate” families –  the Josh and Karissa Karels family, Chris and Nicole Brehmer family, and Steve and Jodi Hoffmann family – were also honored.

A reception for the graduates followed.
