Musician extraordinaire Paul Imholte has a String Theory: If it has strings, he plays it! Paul’s featured instrument is the hammered dulcimer – a trapezoid-shaped instrument played with light hammers – but he also knows his way around a fiddle, guitar, banjo, mandolin, viola, cello, autoharp, mountain dulcimer, harmonica, and jaw harp. Paul sings traditional American folk songs and original tunes about rutabagas, smoking horses, riding grandpa’s bike, and ghosts in the attic. He’s happiest if you sing along and make up silly movements.
Paul has released 12 CDs and appears throughout the United States at festivals, schools, and concerts. Don’t miss him when he performs on Wednesday, June 4, at 1:30 p.m. at the Big Stone City Community Center. The program is free and open to everyone courtesy of Minnwest Bank of Big Stone City and Ortonville. It is brought to you by the Big Stone City Branch of the Grant County Library System. The event will also mark the start of the annual Summer Reading program designed for children in kindergarten through fifth grade.
