Ecclesiastes or Bon Jovi? You’ve heard the phrase: The more things change the more they stay the same. National Intergenerational Day, observed annually on June 1, is dedicated to highlighting the connections between people of all ages. The day is a reminder of our shared customs and purposes and the unique possibilities for collaboration between generations.
Sheila Dailie and her girls put the spotlight on a time-honored tradition celebrated in Milbank and across the nation – the Prom. Sheila, her daughters, and granddaughter modeled their prom dresses worn in the last five decades at MHS. The photo of the impromptu dress-up occasion showcased Sheila in the dress she wore to the MHS Prom in 1975. Sheila’s daughters Shaunna Johnson, Laura Mueller, and Ashley Robish, who attended the proms in 1995, 1998, and 2009; and her granddaughter Kenadee Mueller, who attended the 2025 MHS Prom. Sheila said, “It was totally spontaneous. Three generations of Prom dresses!”
