Options for Women- Ortonville will host an Open House from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 11, at their new location in the Ortonville Mercantile and Gallery Hall (OMG) at 25 Second Street N.W. Cookies will be served.
The organization offers motherhood programs, fatherhood programs, free pregnancy testing, parenting classes, healthy relationship classes, car seat programs, Bible study, safe sleep programs, and adoption referral. Most importantly, Jennifer Cronen speaking on behalf of the organizations says, “We offer compassionate care that is rooted in respect and dignity. We are here to meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of our clients.” All services are offered in English and Spanish.
Their Earn While You Learn classes allow mothers and fathers to participate in educational classes, while at the same time acquiring points to shop the baby boutique for basic baby needs. Parents can earn: diapers, formula, clothes, and other baby items.
Cronen also outlined a way the community can support the organization’s mission. It’s called the Baby Bottle Campaign, and she says it’s a simple yet powerful way to make a difference. “It’s easy: take a baby bottle home, fill it with your spare change, cash, or checks over the next few weeks, and return it. “That’s it. Just a small action with a big impact!”
“But this campaign is about more than coins in a bottle,” Cronen says. “Each bottle represents a woman or a family who walks through our doors feeling scared, uncertain, or alone—and leaves knowing they are not.”
She also explained the driving force behind the local campaign “In 2023, we lost all of our state funding from the Minnesota positive alternative grant, due to not referring for abortions or abortion services. The positive alternative grant covered about 50 percent of our budget. Legislators removed all funding from pro-life centers for the entire state of Minnesota. Every penny you give helps us support life, empower women, and strengthen families right here in our own community.”
Questions about the center or programs? Cronen says, “ Please call or visit us.”
